We were very busy yesterday and I was tired by the time we came back to the hotel last night, so I didn't get around to blogging. Now it's Wednesday afternoon and we're cooling off in our hotel in between outings. I thought this was a good time to write a post about yesterday.
In the morning, we went to Senso-ji, one of the most famous temples in Tokyo. It was really hot, about 95 degrees and very humid, but the sky was very blue. There were many foreigners at the temple- it felt really weird to me! I'm not used to seeing so many Europeans or hearing Chinese spoken all the time. Haha. I visited the temple with my mom last year, so it wasn't new to me, but I still found it very beautiful. Oh, and we got our paper fortunes like I did last year, and... I got a bad fortune AGAIN. <_< Oh well, lol, last year was pretty good so if my fortune is as good this year as last, I'll be happy. :P
We cooled off in our hotel in the afternoon because it was just soooooo hot, and then about 6 headed towards the Tokyo Tower. Our hotel is only about 15 min walking from it. Along the way, we stopped by the temple, Zojo-ji, which stands just east of the tower. It was a very nice little temple, with hardly any people. Then we went up into the tower. It was nice, because it wasn't very crowded. However, we bought a ticket that included admission to both the main observatory and the "special" one, which is 100 meters (~300 feet) higher. The line to go up to that one was quite long, and getting back down took a while too, but the view from up there was really great.
Okay, well, time to go get ready for our next adventure. Hopefully I'll be posting again tonight so I can get back on track with posting every day. Until next time!
